1: KhayalFEST: Imagination

Satninder Singh Bodal – Khayal vocal

On Tuesday 17 October; 06:30 pm.

Satninder Singh Bodal, is a young promising singer from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. He belongs to the Sham Chaurasi/ Patiala Gharana. He was by trained under two masters, Shri Harjinder ji and Shri Baldev Singh Narang.

He has won several awards including: Baba Harvallabh Pratiyogita Junior as well as Senior category Winner of North Zone and National AiU – Youth Festival Winner of Sur Tarang Music Competition 2014 . Awarded with Yuva Sangeet Rattan 2014 award at Kurukshetra Awarded as Best Classical Vocalist of the year, by OSCA IN CMSB National-2014.

He has travelled extensively worldwide for his performances.

Sir Syed’s 200th Birth Anniversary Celebrations

On Friday 20 October; 03:00 pm

Sir Syed Foundation London and Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association (UK) are jointly collaborating with the Nehru Centre to celebrate Sir Syed Ahmad khan’s 200th birth anniversary. The celebrations include a seminar and a panel discussion followed by a cultural programme.

Scholars of international repute –Professor Francis Robinson (Oxford), Professor David Lelyveld (USA), Dr Geoffrey Nash (Sunderland) and Dr Rakhshanda Jalil (Delhi) will be participants in the seminar.

Cultural Programme 

The cultural programme will include classic Urdu poetry readings by Mamta Gupta, AZ Zaidi, Irfan Mustafa and Hilal Fareed followed by dances by Arunima Kumar.
